World Is One Big Machine!!

World Is One Big Machine!!
Today i was feasting my eyes on HUGO movie, brilliantly directed by meticulous director Martin Charles Scorsese. At the 84th Academy Awards, Hugo bagged five Oscars—for Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Sound Editing—and its 11 total nominations (including Best Picture) was the most for the evening. Hugo also won two BAFTAs and was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, earning Scorsese his third Golden Globe Award for Best Director.
I am absolutely exhilarated by the movie and would like to share an exceptionally interesting dialogue:-
“I’d imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured, if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn’t be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason, too”
Well we all are worth something…

Do Good!!! Feel Good!!!

Last night i was enjoying to my favourite melody by Barry Manilow, all of sudden a text came, and it read:
A Little Boy Went To An Ice Cream Shop & Asked:How Much A Large Cup Costs?
Waiter: Rs.15
The Boy Started Counting How Much He Had In His Pocket.
Then He Asked: How Much A Small Cup Cost?
Waiter: Rs.12
The Boy Asked For A Small Cup. He Had It, Paid Bill & Left.
When The Waiter Came To Pick The Empty Cup, He Wept To See That The Boy Had Left
Rs. 3 As Tip For Him.
MORAL: Try To Give Something To Everyone Out Of Whatever Little U Have.
The moment i end up reading this i tried to relate this message to reality and found myself wrapped in thoughts of, sharing, helping , altruism, benevolence and humanitarianism.
Most of us grow into adolescence believing in such words, that life should be fair, that others should enjoy the same advantages as we do, that privileged communities should share their wealth with impecunious members of our society, we are here to help others, infact i still remember the famous quote by Mahatma Gandhi, which they taught in school;”the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. But too god to be true things don’t turn out the same way.
In a changing world the people’s concepts of what is right, worthwhile or desirable are changing. Unfortunately life in reality is not fair, individuals are not equal in their ability to create wealth, there are always those who will take advantage of another’s efforts, poor people being repressed by affluents. Moreover in this competitive era our moral ethics are completely forgotten making individuals gluttonous, acquisitive and money-grubbing .
Somehow it’s much easier to believe that a key to build wealth is saving money and not giving it away. It sounds somewhat contradictory, but one important aspect to build wealth is “giving away”. No one has ever become poor by giving,By building wealth i didn’t mean money or accumulating more and more material possessions, by wealth i mean self satisfaction and inner peace. Certainly having big mansion with fancy car parked outside doesn’t bring peace and tranquility. What motivates you more: Having stuff or feeling good? If you chose the latter, you’re not alone. Many have found over centuries of recorded history that their ultimate satisfaction came from helping those in need. Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.
Giving to charity, benefits yourself as much or more than it benefits those to whom you give. The act of helping others can create an improved sense of well-being. Knowing that you sacrificed something such as money, time or in order to help others in need. It can give you a sense of purpose in life or work with inner satisfaction making you feel more connected to yourself spiritually and to others. Your special gifts to help others can be gift to yourself as you feel less stressed and enjoy self esteem boost for making others lives better and make the world better place.
Many lucrative minds thinks that there is no such thing as altruism but let me ask you a question; How many of you know world’s top 10 richest people? I’m pretty much sure not many, but i’m sure each and everyone of you know about Mother Teresa,An exceptional individual who devoted her life to the destitute and suffering people. That’s what i consider true generosity,You give your all, and yet you always feel as if it costs you nothing. I’m not asking one to be like her but we can try a little bit!!
It’s not how much we give but how much love we put in it, one should remember no one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another and there is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up. We always have something to share, to those who say that they don’t have much to give, well go out and bring a smile on sad face with whatever you have and still; If you can’t do great things, Mother Teresa used to say, do little things with great love. If you can’t do them with great love, do them with a little love. If you can’t do them with a little love, do them anyway. Love grows when people serve.
At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.
Well in the end i would like to share a piece very close to my heart-:
“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”
So Do Good And Feel Good!!!!

Pursuit Of HappYness

Image

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.”
All of us complain at some time or another. But there are some people who whine regardless. Whining is a way of life with them; they cannot resist grumbling, wherever they are, whatever they are doing, or whatever is happening to them, they keep on complaining!! The traffic is too bad; mobile lines are congested; subordinates are insubordinate; i am weather-beaten; people are rude; nobody understands me; nobody appreciates me; why always me; why so much adversities; nobody knows what i am going through; nobody helps; nobody cares. People who complain constantly their energy and intellect are so much focussed on negative aspects that they cannot focus on achieving their goals. How arid and futile their constant complains are! They have unnderestimated their own efficiency and ability; they retain control only by constant complaining.

I have to admit i was a big complainer cribbing about most of the things in life until i watched PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS featuring Wills Smith as Chris Gardner, who has big dreams for himself and his family. Making his path out of difficulties he decides to work as an intern (without no pay) to be a stock broker. He opts for it when his wife leaves him behind. He has to take care of his son on his own. Together they struggle through adversities and find themselves sometimes living on the street.
I was completely won over by Smith’s sincere and deeply effective work as a guy who was knocked down again and again, but refused to give up. For the first time i’ve had a such experience watching movies. Whether that has to do anything with growing maturity i cannot say. But after watching that i was left with an admiration, awe and sense of being elevated.
Realized why can’t we stop focussing on all that is wrong and focus instead on all that’s right; let’s stop cribbing about what we don’t have and look what’s there for us; let’s appreciate people for what they are and what they can do instead of picking out their flaws. Negative feelings our within us not in reality. So why we try to change reality. That’s totally crazy!!! Stop tryin to change the other person. we spend our life, time and energy to change our friends, our bosses, our subordinates and everybody else. Negative feelings are in us when we complain we are inviting negativity into our lives. Each time we blabber something negative about life, we actually begin to believe it more and more, and make it come true. Our imagined ills become our reality. But trust me reverse is true also true. when we believe things are good they become better. One should remember No person on earth has the power to make you unhappy. There is no event on earth that has the power to disturb you or hurt you. No event, condition, situation, or person can do so until and unless you allow.
Undoubtedly movie taught me the art of problem management. In life there are problems, and the best formula is try to manage them rather than try to eliminate them. Every problem begins in the mind, and it is also in the mind where problems can be solved. So it’s like changing the mental gear.
Morever it changed my entire perspective towards people making me less judgemental and opinionated. You really can’t make an opinion about any individual without knowing the real story. You are more precious than everything else. So always try to save yourself. If in any situation you have lost something, even then you have something, and that is YOURSELF. So forget what is lost and take that which still exists for you.
We cannot achieve true happiness instantaneously, it comes from the pursuit of that happiness. Happiness will not slip down into your lap. A happy life can often only be achieved in unhappy conditions. You cannot change the world, but you can manage yourself in order to find a happy place for yourself in the world. As they say “it’s better to wear slippers instead of carpeting the whole world.”
So get up off your backside and actively pursue it and we must also not allow our pursuit of happiness to deprive someone else their pursuit! … but then, I suppose that would be the topic of another question…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life Without Music Is Like a Body Without Soul!!

Image

It’s often said that:”If human is the best creation of god;then music is the best creation of man” well music was already there even before man started making melodies. Everything is musical if you dare to listen and pick out the pulses and pattern held within. Infact the moment i turned on my laptop fan started swinging rhythmically. Yes we are surrounded by music but most of us choose to ignore it.
Music has such a vital importance in our life that can’t be explained within the amalgamation of words and that which cannot remain silent, it is tough to describe similiar to how difficult it is to explain why different rhythms and melodies please some people not other. The experience of music depends on person listening to it. I’m pretty much sure while watching a musical scene in their favourite movie, everyone secretly wished that they had a soundtrack for their life.
Did you ever notice that there’s a certain line in every song sticks out because it reminds you of a person that you just can’t forget? Well there’s a melody for everyone, there’s a song which depicts every person tale. We all have that special song that bores its way into our hearts and fills our heads with moments that reminds us of a specific time in our lives. Music actuates us gradually, effortlessly and we feel like to connect with something that we had heard before, like a overwrought individual who is going through a bad day will end up playing delightful melody. It has the power to switch our feelings from joy to sorrow or vice versa in a fraction of second. Well that’s the beauty of music
Music retrieve our favourable memories from our past which we forgot we had or takes us to the world which we still have to create. You can improve your mood, performance, persona even your outlook on life just by figuring out how different types of music make you feel. Basically role of all the music is to make us feel good.
It’s not necessary that one should be able to make music but the important thing is one should be able to enjoy it. Famous physicist Albert Einstein once said “If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Live!!!!Love!!!!Let Go!!!!!

Life goes on inexorably and before we can apprehend and appreciate its functioning and meaning, it’s time for our exit. In our ignorance and enviousness we squander an entire life time entrapped in negativities or we remain lost in boundless desires and coloured visions about others past and future. We contend with Innumerable desires. Desire for power, unquenchable desire for wealth fame and name never end leading to discontent, frustration and anguish. Beauty of life remains veiled and life just passes by in mindless pursuits of desires. A state of no-desire is practically impossible but we can work on minimising our desires and gradually dispense with them. undoubtedly wealth in certain measure is required for comfortable living. we don’t have to abandon wealth. What we need to give up is our greed and covetousness for material objects. They should be means of life not life itself.

We have a habit of dwelling in the past and brooding about the unseen future, thereby neglecting the present. Revelling in past glories or falling into self-pity due to past adversities is absurd. Past is the graveyard and future imponderable. We need to surrender them fully, only then we can grab the opportunities of the present and move on in life.

Largely our behaviour and perspective are the result of mental conditioning. our mind gets conditioned by our previous encounters with people and events and accordingly builds opinions which, with time, makes one opinionated. An entire life can be wasted in hatred and belligerence towards the individuals who don’t deserve it. we need to sincerely let go our animosities, jealousies, grudges, grouses, prejudices via reconditioning of our mind. “Letting go” isn’t easy it’s an arduous process which cannot be achieved overnight. The anomalies of one’s life become limpid with experience and advances in age. Once identified it is easier to make an effort to vanquish them.

Similarly, one should let go of attachment to the near and dear ones, tough but not impossible as attachment is essentially selfish love. Replace attachment with real and pure love as said by great poet Rabindranath Tagore “love does not claim possession but gives freedom”

one should remember eventually what matters is “how well did you love;how fully did you live and how deeply did you let go?”

it is easy to  accept innovation or welcome new ideas. What most people find difficult, however is accepting the way these new ideas are put into practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
